Cyber threats are changing rapidly, which makes it essential for organizations to implement smart and proactive defence strategies which is why Signal Alliance Consulting was present at the Omniverse Africa Summit 2.0. Industry leaders came together to share thoughts on the theme – Unified by Vision, Empowered by Collaboration. Samuel Emesoronye, our Practice Lead for Network and Cybersecurity, shared valuable insights on the topic – The future of cybersecurity: AI, Automation, and Threat Intelligence.
During his session, Samuel explored how AI, automation, and threat intelligence are reshaping cybersecurity, addressing both defensive and offensive strategies. He highlighted that AI enhances threat detection, behavioral analytics, and automated incident response. However, it can also be exploited for cyberattacks, such as phishing, malware automation, and deepfake scams. A notable case study he presented involved AI-generated deepfake audio that resulted in a $243,000 fraud at a UK energy company.
His presentation also outlined a practical roadmap for organizations, emphasizing the need to invest in AI-driven security solutions, adopt a Zero Trust model, and enhance security awareness training on Artificial Intelligent threats like deepfakes. It highlighted the importance of explainable AI (XAI) for transparency and collaboration with industry and regulators to ensure compliance and ethical implementation.
AI-driven cybersecurity is a double-edged sword, offering both defence advantages and offensive risks. At Signal Alliance Consulting, we’re passionate about helping businesses stay ahead in the cybersecurity landscape. Are you interested in securing your organization’s digital future?
